she wouldnt hurt a fly but she barks like crazy and her hair stands up when anyone comes around the house..... even when i try to calm her

Maybe try some obedience classes. I have 2 Siberian Huskies. One is off-white and dark grey in color with piercing blue eyes. She is very well behaved and normally quiet around other people, but she still scares some people because her looks resemble those of a wolf. I just chalk it up to ignorance and a lack of experience with dogs on the part of those people. My other dog is tan and red in color and has one blue eye and one brown eye. She like your dog, would not hurt a fly (neither of my dogs would) but she is very social, loves people and other dogs, and gets very excited and very loud around other dogs, when in reality, she just wants to go and play with the other dogs. But she does tend to scare people, because they don't know what her intentions are.

Time to go to the mall, the dog park, the car, anywhere there are people. Espically bigger dogs. They need to get along with people, other dogs, and even cats (if you believe that). Go be social.
