KONG ZOOM GROOM dog brush? do they work well?ive got a broken haired parson russell, would this brush work on?
This is my favorite grooming tool to de-shed dogs. Have used it on my Boxer, my American Bulldog, and i use it on my Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. It works better that the expensive over priced "Furminator"
The Zoom groom get the hair that the slicker brush leaves behind.
The Zoom Groom also works great for getting hair off furniture and upholstery

It works excellent for reducing shedding. You can also try the deshedder from walmart that works wonders and is about $10 of the Furminatior
If you are attempting to groom your dog into the breed look, then you need to strip the coat. I would consult a professional groomer.

I think the brush works best for short-medium length hair. I bought one when I first got my lab pup. I think its a great tool and very durable.
Not only do I use it to brush her with it but I also use it whenever I give her a bath. It really helps get the shampoo lather deep down into her coat. I think she enjoys it too, It feels like a massage.

sorry this is more an additional quesion than an answer, do the zoom grooms cope with the longer course hair on the rear end of a german shep. great question by the way I too have looked at these but was unsure how good they are

The zoom groom will work well, but look for the Unigroom, I think it is a much better rubber brush. The Unigroom is in the horse section. Both of these rubber brushes will pull out the dead undercoat. you can google 'unigroom' for a picture of this brush.
As for the course hair of a German Shep, I would take a metal comb to that, and comb it out, then the Uni groom.
