What is the described bright red smooth bubble on my dog's upperlip/whisker area?

swollen, round, bright red bubble on dog's upper lip

swollen, round, bright red bubble no center to it, and it doesn;t look like a zit.. it's a weird smooth bright red bubble of a spot right on the edge of her upper lip (side of the face) right where whiskers end and her lip begins- no hair around the spot. Please email me ASAP with Suggestions to: Jenn18_s10@yahoo.com thanks, Jennifer

zits can look like that on a dog....or it could be an ingrown hair....if use plastic bowls they will cause acne as they habor germs.

Hi, I have 3 Pugs and they were notorious for getting these little bumps and it scared me too when I first saw them, now that the dogs are older they no longer "pop" up. They're zits and as one of the previous people that answered said, plastic bowls can cause this as well as crocks, it is said to that stainless steel is the best to use for feeding/watering your pets.

Once I found out what they were I would apply some Neosporin or Triple Antibiotic Ointment on them and it would take long for them to dissappear.

I've posted a couple of websites that may be of interest to you but from my own experience just washing the area with a mild soap and drying it and applying the ointment has always worked...they've all finally grown out of it now, thankfully.

Good luck and I do hope this is all that is...sounds like you are taking great care of your furbaby.
