How do you treat a "hot spot" on a dog?

it's about two inches in diameter.



all the hair is gone from it.



outside of upper thigh area



it started off pink, but now it's turning white.



We've been putting some antibiotic cream and in the beginning we sprayed it with bactine.



How do you get a dog to stop licking at it??

Sulfedene to clean the area and cortisone spray to keep from scratching and help healing.

Go to the pet store.. There is some stuff there for hotspots.. many different things and most of the work.. You can aslo put comfry on it.. Though that is really hard to find. I make my own.

Put some kind of wrap over it, then spray it with sour apple spray~ the stuff you use to keep dogs from chewing on stuff.
