I got her a few toys. One is a rubber O on a rope to chew on/play with but she won't. Another way a knotted rope stick that was to fetch/chew on but she doesn't care for it either. We gave her an old shoe, which she loved at first, but know is not fond of.
I was outside sitting on the ground near her today and she walked behind me, grabbed the scrunci in my hair with her teeth and pulled it out. She loved tugging on the scrunchi and I would hide it in my hands and she would try to get it.
Is there a toy that is kind of like a scrunchi? I am afraid to let her play with a scrunchi becuase I don't want her to swallow it or choke.
What other toys would be good for a very high energy dog who will not fetch and easily looses her focus?

let her have the scrunchi! it's a funny thing about dogs but they pick their own toys. our dog is the same way. she won't play with anything but her rope. as long as the dog is safe from it let her have a ball!

Is she a chewer? Squeaky toys could work out for her. My cousin's puppy loves squeaky toys because of the noise they make. When he's in his playing mood, you can squeak a toy, and he comes running. It's really cute. I also recommend a Kong. It seems to keep some dogs occupied for a while.

Just get her some rubber toys at Walmart. I had a dog once that liked rubber toys that squeaked. And pick up some dried pig ears for treats, all dogs are CRAZY for them.

You can get her a Kong. They're made of heavy duty rubber and have an opening that you can place treats, peanut butter, or cheese in. She'll have to play with the Kong to get the treats out and since she's being rewarded for playing, she'll likely stay interested.

It would help to know what breed she is (large, med or small even) and how old she is.
You can get her a "kong" that will hold treats. They come in several sizes and shapes. You might also try a "stuffed animal" toy. Most every dog I've come across likes those.

Get an old towel and tear into 2 or 3 lengths. Tie a large knot on either end of each piece. You can use these to play tug-o-war and fetch with her.
Have you tried a frisbee? Dogs love to chase these too.

You don't want to encourage her to play with things that belong to you. This includes scrunchies and shoes. If you encourage her to play with these, then she will just assume that it is okay to play with ANY shoe, and ANY scrunchie, or even other things that belong to you. This will cost you money, and it is dangerous for her. You want to stick to toys that were specifically made for dogs, and toys that are safe for her to play with. You want a toy that she likes, and one that she can't destroy, and ingest pieces of. You can visit your local pet store, like Petsmart or Pet Supplies Plus, and bring her with you to pick a toy out together. There are ALL kinds of different toys, I'm sure you will find one that you both agree on. Good luck!
**I also agree that a Kong is an excellent choice. My dog Loves her Kong, and she can't destroy it.

It sounds like you have a little dog. I only have experience with larger breeds, but the best toy I have found is a Kong. Kongs are a hollow rubber cone. Dogs love these toys because when you throw it they land and bounce in unpredictable ways making the dog react quickly. I often find my dogs playing solo with one of these batting them with a paw and chasing it. I use them in reward training. I place peanut butter in the cavity and when the dog is done with a training session we play Kong. When we are done they have the peanut butter to lick out.
For small dogs I have seen a couple of people use a Rascal. It閳ユ獨 a motorized toy available at toy stores. It is a plastic ball with a tail on one side. The motor spins the ball gyroscopically and the tail whips around the ball. Little dogs like to chase the tail. It閳ユ獨 noisy but effective.
