Her name is Katara Toph and she has a wave running down her back and it goes on to her tail so her tail is ver wavy.. Med lenth hair and very cutie,., We just got her from the shelter!! I just would like to know the mix. Thanks!!!

Looks like a Border Collie mix. I'm not even sure there's any Lab at all. Most shelters call any black dog a Lab mix, because people like Labs and are more likely to adopt them. She is very cute though!

Thanks for adding pictures! I would guess maybe she had a little bit of border collie in her, maybe belgian sheepdog...MAYBE some flat-coated retriever! One thing's for sure...she's a cutie!

She may have some Rhodesian ridgeback in her maybe, but we really need a picture to help you out.

Also, this website might help you. It basically says that it's nearly impossible to find out the clear roots of a mutt unless the breeder mixed the dogs intentionally.

Could be a couple of things: retreiver, spaniel, collie? Do you have a pic yet? Thank you for rescuing this angel and I'm sure whatever the mix is, she will give you lots or love and companionship over the years! I like her name too..very original.

What color is the "wave"? A picture or a better description would be great, the most common type of stray dog that fits that description is a chow, or perhaps a husky b/c labs and chows are one tone and huskys can be multi-toned. Also what shape are it's ears? Is the dogs nose pointy more cone like or more short nosed. Or the dog could even have have a lab mother and a mixed father. When getting a dog from a shelter you don't even know if what they say is the correct breed. The positive way to tell if its even a lab is the bump on the back of their skull where the skull meets the spine. Give a better description or a picture and I'll try to help out more
