What do i do about my neighbours dog?

Its nearly 10pm on a monday night and the neighbours dog over the road has been barking constantly since about 7pm. Im about to rip my hair out! I cant be arsed to get dressed and go over there. What can I do?

if you report the dog to the council for noise they will send the owners a letter to inform them of the problem without naming names, and warn them that the dog can be taken away from them if the problem persists.

I believe in speaking to the person first before taking the next step. I would do the following:

1. Speak to the neighbors in a kind way about the barking. Let

them know that it is troublesome for you/your family to get

rest with the constant barking.

2. If the neighbor does not offer any solutions then I would go to

step #3

3. Start calling in a nuisance report to the police.

I believe after so many nuisance reports the owner can be fined. This might give the owner some thought into perhaps bringing the dogs in at night etc. Good Luck.

dogs bark because they are hungry or because the spot an animal or person that should not be in their territory. maybe you should just deal with it and be thankful there is a dog around that could warn you of an intruder.

This is a noise nuisance issue. You have to get your local enviromental health officer involved. But then if you can't be bothered to go over and speak to the neighbours, then suffer.
